Treschow Fritzøe 's trade in lumber and building materials was established in the 1970s and it was decided to strengthen this venture in 1975, when Oddbjørn Hagen was hired as department manager for the business.
From 1986, Fritzøe became a trade AS established as a separate company with Oddbjørn Hagen as manager with a department for sales to building materials retailers and a wholesale business. The wholesale business was then demerged in 1998 and established under the name Fritzøe Engros AS . The customer group was, as today, retailers and the wood industry with a turnover of approximately 80 MNOK. Later, several acquisitions were made in Norway, and in 2006 the business was expanded to Sweden by acquiring CEOS and in 2015 Spångberg which was later renamed Skivspecialisten AB Oddbjørn Hagen was a key figure in the development of this business at Treschow Fritzøe, until his retirement in 2022.
Karl Ljungberg AB was established in 1946 with its trade in wood-based plate products and this company was later sold to DLH AS in 2006. Bear Ljungberg then continued this company by establishing Ljungberg Fritzøe AB in 2013.
The start of the collaboration between Ljunghold AB and Treschow Fritzøe came into being with the establishment of Ljungberg Fritzøe AB in 2013, which became a channel into the building materials trade in Sweden. The collaboration was continued with the acquisition of the listed company DLH AS in Denmark in 2020.
Fritzøe Nordic holding AS as the owner company was then established through a merger in the fall of 2021, where Treschow Fritzøe AS owns 90.1% and Ljunghold AB 9.9%. At the time of the merger, the ownership consisted of the companies Fritzøe Engros , DLH Fritzøe, Ljungberg Fritzøe, CEOS Fritzøe and Skivspecialisten In 2023, an acquisition was completed by Krydsfinér-Handelen in Denmark.
